Rusty Spoon

Rusty Spoon

A Poem by Gitana Deneff

I told him what I wanted.
He took a spoon and carved my heart out.
Threw it in his soup of despair, hurt, and confusion.
It was the missing ingredient.
The rusty spoon leaves fragments in my soul.
Your poison lingers,
Puts a curse on my mind.
You claim I don't care.
But I think the problem
Is that I cared too much
About you... that I forgot
About me.

there is truth in your poem, when men break your hearts, they might as well be carving it out with a rusty spoon, great job
