Lovely Lady

Lovely Lady

A Poem by M Slaughter
"

A different style than what I usually do..has an interesting rhythm..almost like a rap.

"

Hello Lovely--you know you are: Lovely.

Hold me?

I don't know how, but you've caught me--

Got me

Under your spell,

And it's hell

When I look in your eyes, and there's nothing

But apathy

For me.

What I feel--is real--I adore you. Let me

Explore you.

More specifically you and I.

I won't lie:

We'd be magic.

It's tragic

You won't open up.

So, buckle up

Because I'm a hard girl to race

In this chase

For your heart and your love.

The above

Is all I want--now.

Don't make me

Hunt--it--down,

Because, girl, I'm under your spell

And it's hell.

Oooh, I absolutely love it! The rhythm actually got me moving my head and the whole poem just flowed really well. The short lines are really good in this case, because they don't seem broken up or fragmented. Good job!

I dug it. It was quite lyrical. It kinda had this cole porter tone as I read it. This screams to be read aloud...
nice job
