Cinema of Pain

Cinema of Pain

A Poem by Taylor Anne

I sit here alone,

in this old theater,

the screen is black but slowly turns,

on the wall an imagine appears,

I recognize it as a young girl I use to know,

she smiles and has a subtle shimmer in her eyes,

the child seemed familiar,

my hand sub-conciously raises to my face as tears beginning making their way down my cheeks,

my mind flashes pictures of this girl,

she holds everything I use to be,

and all the happiness that has left me,

she giggles as though she knows the pain I feel,

the screen goes black and the play ends,

cinema of the dark,

I am left with all that I had before but somehow I feel a sensation of longing,

it is for what that I do not know.
