Dead Portrait

Dead Portrait

A Poem by The Waterlily Pad
"

Volume 2

"
When I die, I don't need anyone next to me.
I want it to be written on a page;
A book, a brain, an eye, based on sculpture...
That way I know you will remember me.
I just want you to remember me

Draw me with the paint-full of pen you see,
An illustration of a good or bad.
Highlight my mistakes on the edges,
Let them see ,
And remember me for me.

Remind you of my past and life,
My choices held no regret,
But judge me with that democratic eye,
Asses me with boundless depth,
Remember me.

And maybe,
Perhaps,
That way, I'll be secure and satisfied,
That the life I lived was not wasted.
Please carry out my death wishes.

And maybe,
Perhaps,
That way you'll remember me,
Unforgettably...
For centuries.

I've never heard the song you write about..
But I do understand the need to be immortalized ..
To be thought of for ever and ever....praised
Centuries past our existence ..
I think being loved, and thought of as loving
Is a more sought after epitaph..

I wish to be remembered for my Heart....

Interesting !!!

Jazz..
