Dead PortraitA Poem by The Waterlily PadVolume 2
When I die, I don't need anyone next to me.
I want it to be written on a page; A book, a brain, an eye, based on sculpture... That way I know you will remember me. I just want you to remember me Draw me with the paint-full of pen you see, An illustration of a good or bad. Highlight my mistakes on the edges, Let them see , And remember me for me. Remind you of my past and life, My choices held no regret, But judge me with that democratic eye, Asses me with boundless depth, Remember me. And maybe, Perhaps, That way, I'll be secure and satisfied, That the life I lived was not wasted. Please carry out my death wishes. And maybe, Perhaps, That way you'll remember me, Unforgettably... For centuries. © 2015 The Waterlily PadAuthor's Note
