A Shadow's Memoir

A Shadow's Memoir

A Poem by The Waterlily Pad

A clear sky, Daddy,
High.
A pure intention,
A prone infection,
Innocence in my essence,
A drive for perfection...
A swift gale in the early summer of May...

A moving Earth, Dad,
Stumble.
Screeeeech.
A great expectation,
Too great
To reach.
A high temperament,
In the clouds above.
A little knowledge of life-
A need for guidance and love.

A busy rumble, Father,
A light shower shall pass,
Purifying the fire,
Tame It till last,
A mortifying struggle.
Gets easy
Gets slowly
Calm.

A quiet silence befalling us, Papa,
An easy breeze-
No specific wind,
Shall I run in my long passed youth,
To trail my past?
To feel it last...
Once more.

A death on strike,
A uneasy turn,
A light sore,
In my heart,
Hold my tight in your embrace,
And I'll be your daughter once more.
As before, Daddy.
Once more.

Each paragraph is meant to express the ease of movement depending on a girl's inspection of her father as she grows up. If you closely analyse my choice of words and how they differ slightly from each paragraph, you'll be able to interpret the differences and how they relate-you might even guess how old the speaker is as the paragraphs move along!
