Dust Where There Once Was Light- Horizon

Dust Where There Once Was Light- Horizon

A Poem by The Waterlily Pad
"

This is where these queens undergo their tragedy in romance

"
I hadn't known.
I'd only begun.
Struck me like fire
Already she'd won.
I pulled my finger away from the sparks
Only to find it's consumed me.
Dust
Ashes

A fallen crown welcomed in its new possession,

Crawl- Crawl- Crawl.
I couldn't hear my cries.
You'd silenced me with promised lies.
I knew they weren't real
But goddamn my ignorantly beautiful heart which had been woven
With pitiful innocence

I knew nothing.

I had nothing; Dust and ashes
Oh!
Where there had once been you.
Where there had once been love.
Where there had once been light.

Yet God return you.
God curse her.
God help me.
For I still love you.

As if you were all I'd known.
Because, with all honesty,
I'd never known any man besides you...

Author's Note

The Waterlily Pad
I think women in them days weren't exposed to much of this as this was a sensitive subject to most eligible women.
