Hints

Hints

A Poem by Caitlin
"

She likes to leave little hints.

"

She likes to paint in certain hues

Hints that only she can distinguish

Until completion

When all colors have blended to one murky mess

She likes to leave little hints

Of her life, her emotions

Each one planted carefully

Merely to be ignored

She likes to taste forbidden fruits

Smell roses and dance through fields

But is believed to sit at home

And soak in empty darkness

She enjoys leaving the little hints

Hints are all she needs

So she can pretend to strive for assimilation

While she truly heads towards alienation

But she likes to leave hints

So the world can pretend to know her.
