I feel cheap

I feel cheap

A Poem by Nicola Taylor

like a bronze hooker
on a 9 a.m.
Monday morning
sipping coffee from a
cup with red lipstick stains
in pantie hose and dontfuckme pumps

Satan in a Sunday hat
isn't so bad, at least
he dressed up
for the
occasion.

Well done and gritty.

great use of imagery., the lipstick, the pumps, sets a gritty tone. simile - really like "like a bronze hooker'"

One smallll suggestion, maybe "Styrofoam" cup - don't know, for some reason I picture the red lipstick imprint on a Styrofoam cup, and I think it would only add to trashiness of the tone, if that makes anysense. Tight write!

clever ... a real city morning after apartment with a bit of a funky smell in the air...(stale air I mean :-)

Nice.
