Not Again

Not Again

A Poem by Autumn

Mom, you already left me

Abandoned me

Made me feel alone

Dad, don’t do the same to me

Abandon me

Make me feel alone

Love your wife

Love my new mom

She’s all I have left

I know about the other one

The woman you always see

I know about the other one

Please Dad, don’t do this to me

Not again

Good flow and rhythm. Very clear and understandable. I like the finish with "not again" it gives you a different view once you finish. The repetition works really well and sets the clear message.

While I never had a parent cheating I was cheated on in my past so I can understand the sense of betrayal you must feel at this moment. I hope things get better for you.

This was absolutely striking. I have little to say except that this writings was very raw and beautifully meaningful. The way you ended was a sad note, and it made me want to reach out. Very touching. Only suggestion is to look over things and see if you can make them flow a little better in some spots. 98/100.

A plaintive cry into the wilderness of other lives...
Perhaps you should read some poems to your dad and step mom..
Some of the old heartfelt poems by Yeats or other romantics..
Or communicate by your own poetry..you have the gift..

Strength through authenticity.
It felt rough but I think thats what you were going for.

I am so sorry. Nobody deserves this. Try to let your Dad know that you feel what he is doing is destructive. Above all, take care of yourself.
