Half a Moon and Three Asteroids

Half a Moon and Three Asteroids

A Poem by xlovehatealicex

Let's write the conclusion to a story of grace

Will the Princess keep her prince?

not everything is meant to be perfect

let's write a tragedy instead

Her royal highness will find the prince

They will live a life of honor and pride

so much pride it will kill them both

To everyones' surprise it was the prince

He whom stabbed her with the shiny dagger

Commited the crime and fled to make his decision:

Suicide

Hung himself on a tree

His only true throne.

was it perfect?

of course not

not everything is meant to be perfect

so let's finish our tragedy.

Not bad at all. Reminds me of an old Sophocles tragedy of some sort.
I especially like these lines:

"not everything is meant to be perfect
let's write a tragedy instead"

Simple way to say it, yes. But it packs a punch.
