Fate

Fate

A Poem by Jamie.
"

Okay, I reallyreallyreally hate this poem. I dont like it; I had to write it for a project-- not my best work. But my friend convinced me to put it here.

"

Staring at the fire in the sky and marching,

The left meant to die---we all knew;

I used all my will power not to let tears run down my cheeks,

Strong was what I had to be,

...

Marching in ranks of five,

Every step closer to the building by the fire,

Hearing prayers being said around me,

I could not bring myself to pray:

Bitterness was all I had left.

A foul stench in the air:

The smell of burning flesh.

My ashes soon to be in the chimney,

The scent of my flesh to be in the air.

The worst had yet to come.

Into the shower,

Doors bolted shut,

Around me, people praying,

Believing the lies,

Believing their end was not near.

Gasping for breath,

Becoming light headed,

This was not right;

The blurry mess,

 Soon became blackness.

...

Away from this hell on earth,

I had escaped it all;

My body to burn in the flames,

The smell of my flesh in the air.

Jamie.
I'm a pessimist; so i think this is horrible. In case you couldn't guess, it's about the Holocaust...

This is very powerful and well written. It brought to life the stories of the concentration camps. Even though you hate it their voices should never be forgotten. We must never forget. Thank you so much for sharing this and speaking for those with no voice.

Wow...very intense. I like it quite a bit. At first I thought this might be through a soldier's eye but I realize much different. Don't be too pessimistic, for this story is pretty awesome!!! I like your diction. :))
