Shadow Season Musings

A Poem by Amé

"
The world is full of sharks but we can will them all away
And danger dances near but we can fight and we can pray
We can dodge its blows and we won't know but we can dance away
And the night won't be the night if the day were not the day

There's a storm over the ocean; there's a thief come in the night
We will let ourselves surrender to the truth that we must fight
We must fear and yet be fearless, and rejoice while we defend
For the fire is all around us but the end's still in the end

Postscript:

In my hopes we'll be remembered far beyond our long years' end
Though faith shall shift and waver and though luck's a fickle friend
In my hopes, your hand's in my hand if the world should fall apart
But thunder's noise shakes earthly joys and pounds upon my heart

Amé
Anything else I can put there besides "fickle friend"?
