Lonely Heart

Lonely Heart

A Poem by InkStainedHands

I left my heart
All on its own
It's anyone's for the taking
Feeling has only hurt me so far
I left my heart
On the doormat
Of someplace that is hidden
Somewhere only we know
It's kept safe in our heads
Created by our hearts
My heart is finally home now
Waiting at the door
Of our cozy country home
We build it together
Only you and me
I left my heart
On its lonesome
It doesn't cost much
Except some love and care
If you can somehow find where it lays
You can go ahead and keep it
