I want what you have, That Great hair, I stop and stare. A Slim build, I watch you run on the field.
A stunning smile, I look at you for a while. Big beautiful eyes, Only I can see the tears you cry.
I want what they have,
The warm hugs,
I watch as my heart string tugs. Hands entwined together, I see their love always forever. His arm around her shoulder, My heart feels so much colder. She tells him she loves him, My love life looks so dim.
I want what I have, I have what I have. A novel that i wrote, When I cry the lump I get in my throat. My naturally curly hair, The random clothes that I wear. My secret identity dreams, The grades I finally redeemed. One day I will accept myself, No longer will i be sitting on the shelf.
I think a lot of young people, especially people in school - or out of school - can relate to this poem; when the see others that have a certain thing that haven't aquired yet, such as, like, love for instance. And that, I can relate to. I see my friends having a lovely time with their girlfriends, telling me stories about what they've been up to, where they went together; I'm happy for them, truly, but I always feel a little saddened that I seem to always be the single one in the group, so I know how it feels, looking at someone else in that way. It was very touching and a lovely poem to read.
