Life Saver!

Life Saver!

A Poem by fernii
"

a girl who is on a path of distruction until she gets a councilor who saves her life.

"

I used to be such a mess,

A depressed teen I do distress.

Many friends I had lost,

Then I think at what cost.

I had many thoughts of dying,

Cutting my arms seemed so satisfying.

I didn't know what was happening to me,

Someone help me I would plea.

Then we met.

At first I looked down at the floor,

I really seemed like such a bore.

Then we started to chat,

You never judged me because I was fat.

You wanted to know fern,

Things about me you were interested to learn.

You helped me to overcome fears,

You tought me to ignore all the haters and the sneers.

I have to say you did me a huge favor,

Thank you, You're a real life saver.

Awww! Gosh... I'm just going to keep telling myself not to cry... Our saviors come right when we need them the most, don't they? They see into us with eyes unclouded, lacking of judgment, filling us with joy because they are able to realize what others have not. That laying in wait, living within us is a beautiful rose that they have nurtured with their support, that now blossoms because of their love. All fear forgotten in their comforting embrace. This is beautiful and what so many long for. I wish you a lifetime of this happiness, fernii. Truly.

Aw, this is really sweet, it's honest and sincere, which I like a lot. The rhyme scheme is a little over-whelming, however.

i think that single line in the middle "then we met", is excellently put there. it's simple, yes, but such a great twist it gives to things!

Wow Fernii! This poem is so great!

Lemme guess, is that "life saver" your hubby now? This is wonderful! I love all the lines, I couldn't pick just one :)) so calm, so gentle, but full of meaning!

PS: this is going in my favorites ;)
