Dreams

How dreams can be annoying but good at the same time. Nobody knows whether they could come true or not. Sometimes they do sometimes they don't and you have to forget about them.

I have many dreams everyday,

Dreams that I wish could come true in every way.

Many of these dreams will happen in time,

Firstly there's a mountain I must climb.

 

I've had to get over so many dreams,

Because this world is not all that it seems.

Opportunities come and go,

But my dreams do still flow.

 

Some dreams are achievable,

Others are just unbelievable.

Some dreams I know will never come true,

Which does make me kind of blue.

 

Having dreams can be good,

I dwell on them more than I should.

Myself I might have to change,

And plans I would need to arrange.

 

Dreams can make life hard,

But sometimes you have to let down your guard.

For now ill keep on dreaming,

And in the future maybe ill be gleaming.

Everyone dreams. And we all have our ambitions for our own lives. We all have our fantasies on the kind of lives that we would someday like to lead. When it comes to dreaming, however, mine have been dark of late. My gran hasn't been very well; she has her good days and then her bad. I'm really scared of losing her, and what I see in my dreams frightens me. I don't like what I see myself becoming; a person filled with such loss that it eventually turns into insatiable hate. I turn against my friends, family. But I have good dreams, too. I dream about becoming a published author, living the life I've always wanted to have. Writing stories to make people happy and have the joy of picking up a new book in the stores. But there are obstacles that we first have to conquer, like you rightly state: "Many of these dreams will happen in time, Firstly there's a mountain I must climb." This was wonderfully written and showed a tremendous amount of detail that you put in to the creation of this piece of poetry. Loved it.

I believe dreams can make and break us. My goals started with my youth and over time have changed and grown with me. Once upon a time I wanted to be a Marine Biologist, now I wish for world peace and equality, two almost impossible dreams. At times it is good to dwell on your dreams, perhaps in doubting you can leap that mountain you are able find the ambition and confidence you need to do so. I know not all dreams are attainable, like becoming Superman for example. But I believe we can all reach our goals if we try. As long as we are willing to compromise, know we can't have it all, just be content with what we have gained on our own. A wonderful poem, fernii. Definitely got me thinking about the future.

Without dreams, what would we live for? Even though some dreams are unreachable...its good to always dream. Keep your imagination alive. You would be surprised if you dream hard enough what does come true!... Nice poem!

Some say that when you dream your soul is actually released from your body and what you are dreaming is really your soul traveling the Universe and that is why dreams are so dream like :)
