A Poem by Taylor Jade

I want nothing more than to be in your arms
at 3 o'clock in the morning.
I want to feel your warmth and love
so I can finally feel
what a home is supposed to feel like.
But instead I am here,
in this place I must call home,
where it always feels like
I am falling onto a tiled floor
of emptiness and tears
from my eyes
wet my pillow and as I try to warm myself
with the blankets and thoughts of you.
It doesn't work.
It'll never work.
Until I get to be in your arms
at 1 o'clock,
2 o'clock,
and 3 o'clock.
And I will finally
sleep peacefully
in the home I love,
the home that is you.
