Heroes Right Before Your EyesA Poem by RJA short piece for my brothers in arms whether they're completely fine, having trouble getting back to who they were or if they never came home at all. Hooah. This is the end We’ve done our time It seems now we can rest Now that we’re lost to the
World Our game of inches is finally
over And for committing no real
sin Our memory is forced to bare
a terrible price Oh, there’s no lasting stain We’re forced to watch our
deeds fade Our memory forgotten Save for some political chump And they’re political refrain A generation of lonely broken
heroes Our sacrifice was in vain. For what it isn’t, for what
it never will be For what it was To us it was real, To us it is real. © 2014 RJ |
