Appreciation/Deprecation of Thyself

Appreciation/Deprecation of Thyself

A Poem by Xavier Ourias
"

Prompt: What do you appreciation about yourself? If you're being honest with yourself, what do you wish was different about yourself?

"

I appreciate my natural athleticism

I appreciate my thick curly hair

I appreciate my skin kissed by the sun

I appreciate my natural body heat

I appreciate my ability to understand

I appreciate my love

I appreciate my acceptance

I appreciate my room for growth

Growth in my understanding of my thoughts and feelings

Growth in accepting my shortcomings

Stronger will to push myself

Stronger time management skills

Stronger work ethic

Stronger self love

Stronger confidence

Stronger faith

Stronger friendships

The little things I sin make me question my religion

Friendships give me strength and I don’t have the effort for them to prosper

My appreciation for myself grows ever thinner day by day

Why must I live with myself in eternal confusion

Appreciating the nothingness of my being

Working at nothing for few or no results

In the end I am me

That isn’t who I want to be
