You Made It Through The Day

You Made It Through The Day

A Poem by Alias

Sometimes I forget
Just getting out of bed
The little victories
I overcame the dread.
Sometimes I forget
That today I did do well
I had something to eat
The heartache I did quell
Sometimes I remember
When my heart feels grey
That I should be proud
I made it through the day.

Wow. I feel this on a whole new level.
Sometimes even the tiniest things should be celebrated. Getting out of bed, eating something, laughing. They seem minimal to others, but they are important to us.
Thank you for writing this and sharing it. I think I stand for a lot of people when I say that this is what we needed. Look at all these people you have impacted. So many loved your words.
Be proud of yourself.
Be proud of making it through the day.
I hope things get easier. I love your writing.

Simple. Easy. Inspiring. A chant to remind ourselves our story is a book, not a single chapter.

I can't express how brilliant I find this poem to be! How we tend to underestimate our little victories of everyday, and how we need to pause and nourish our selves at times.

The writing is unpretentious and is something that I am sure will touch a chord with every one who reads it.
Well done.

Best, M.

I can relate to your words as sometimes, it is hard to pull myself out of bed and its ok if that's my only victory. Or to remember that I made it another day.
