Could you imagine

Could you imagine

A Poem by XO Vee

Could you imagine
A love so simple
So sweet
Gathering only the rarest of flowers
Making sure each flower is filled with nothing more then their love
Could you imagine
Holding that love in the palm of your hand
Never to let it go as long as both of you live
Making certain that even if the slightest bit goes wrong
You can catch it again and everything will blossom as it should
Could you imagine
Watching the things that you both loved about each other
Grow in the being you've created from your love
Her smile, eyes and silky brown hair
His laugh, chiseled chin and the structure of a statue
Could you imagine
Growing old, becoming the rarest flower
Being picked up by the next two lovers
Who only wish to have a love like yours
Praying for a love so simple yet so sweet
Could you imagine.

Anonymous, what a simple but intense piece. In the simplest way this pieces just shook up my emotions.
I am embracing grief on a daily basis like a chore and love has squashed me as if a bug. I hide them well before I leave my home each day. "Could you Imagine" has with a few brief words has exposed both. Beautiful use of words. Can you catch it again and will everything blossom as it should? or is it just a once in a lifetime thing ?

I could imagine that a long time ago, when I was young. Not anymore. I don't relate love to picking flowers now, but instead, to gardening. Lots of hard work if you want something beautiful

Sorry . . . I can't imagine it. But it's interesting & thought-provoking that you asked. I think you repeated your "can you imagine" refrain just the right amount of times & in just the right places. I like that you picked a metaphor (flower) & wove it consistently thru-out your poem drawing unusual comparisons that show originality. I like that the woman is described in everyday terms, not painted as the most beautiful woman with all the clichéd aspects of beauty. Now for your next poem, how about if you create a recipe for those of us who cannot imagine . . . show us how to shake off the painful history & imagine the possibilities . . . *smile* (((HUGS)))

This is one of your best writes. Not many find this in life, that is why the divorce rate is so high. Valentine
