If I could only say Thank you.

If I could only say Thank you.

A Poem by Teresa Middleton
"

I wrote this as my wonderful cousins were adopted. I always was so thankful they were a part of my life.

"
One day while I looked in the mirror,
Something occurred to me.
They said I should look like my mother,
But I do not see her in me.
So I asked a friend who knew me,
maybe its my father I should see.
So I looked again in the mirror,
but I do not see him in me.
My skin is somewhat darker,
than my mom's or my dad's.
and my eyes this deep grey color,
green and blue is what they had.
My parents were those who raised me,
and gave me the heart and soul.
and told of the place I came from,
and cried as they told me so.
I am ever thankful,
to the people I do not know.
But I still wish I knew them,
and I could tell them so.
