Prayers From A Voodoo Priestess

Prayers From A Voodoo Priestess

A Poem by alexaandraaa
"

A poem about heartbreak, and revenge.

"

Make it break, make it burn,

Take this lesson, make him learn.

Blood and tears, have their part,

Make a void inside his heart.

Make him yearn and pine to fill,

Make him wish to have me still.

Make him slither, make him crawl,

Make him want me most of all.

Make it fester, from this wound,

Make him feel this shallow tomb.

Make him feel, how I have felt,

Unto him now these cards are dealt.

Those who ask, unto is given,

From this sacred, true religion.

This is the second poem I have seen today that reflects upon this kind of creepy, violent culture, and this is the first time that I have enjoyed it. I hate the topic, so you wont get any positive comments from me about that.

What I did like about this poem was the creative way you wrote it. Instead of being a generic poem about voodoo or wanting revenge or any of the things you wrote about, you made it more of a ritualistic chant. That was really the part of the poem that intrigued me. The many voodoo aspects of the poem that were very diverse and two dimensional made this not just a creepy, scary thing and made it a work of art. I am very impressed with the organization and general creative structure of the piece.

Keep up the good work, and rate my review if you found it helpful :)
