Freedom

Freedom

A Poem by oranges_melt

from the day I was born,

to the day I will die,

cannot be compared to what's strengthened inside.

The skies will stay blue, and the sun will stay strong,

but since I've been free, I've been hearing a song.

It starts out like this, and ends with a note,

Compared to what's next, it's nothing I wrote.

The freedom, the wind, the rhythm of God,

The things I now see aren't much short of an awe.

Slavery's killed but the people will live,

this is the freedom and love God will give.

From the day I was born,

to the day I will die,

I cannot be more thankful to live and pass by.
