Dream

Dream

A Poem by oranges_melt
"

spark your imagination.

"

I know what I am,

I know who I was,

but now that I stand,

the rest is a fuzz.

All's I feel is the blow of the winds,

yet I'm inside my own head,

I've touched all these sins,

but that's not what they said.

It's not what they warned.

It's supposed to bring me high,

make me feel above the world,

yet this cough can be unbearable,

somehow I wish I'd born a bird.

I could fly and dream and do what I want,

I could breathe, but this smoke makes my teeth rot.

I could see what I want, I could do what I say,

but now that I'm addicted, to it I obey.

All I can do is keep what's in mind,

this dream is alive, it's burn will remind.

The fume in my ears, and as I delay,

my mind won't stay put, it's wander, it's stray,

will keep me determined to find what was lost,

I know for a fact it never will be tossed.

So all I can do is try and to try,

for what it's worth, one day I will fly.
