Under This Makeup

Under This Makeup

A Poem by oranges_melt
"

under this depression

"

Look at me now.
Do you think I look happy?
Do I look happy to you?
Looking at my smile.
Is it worth the while?
What would you do
to see me in joy?
What would you do?
Is it part of your ploy?
To see me wrapped 'round
the devil's finger-
I'm entwined.
Just look at my face.
I'm hidden under lace.
Under pounds of this makeup
and colors of the sea
to make me look happy
is it worth the misery?
Look at me now.
And tell me what you see.
A girl in a photo
or that thing you molded me?

very artistic. i liked the meaning of this poem as well as the poem itself. i especially liked the ending; it was very dramatic. i also think you picked the perfect photo to go with it.
