Disguise

Disguise

A Poem by oranges_melt
"

my purpose will surface.

"

Even the worthless have found a purpose,
even the bravest have much to fear,
even the weakest have found their strength,
even the blind had much to hear,

all in all, I've hidden and covered,
I've never seen, heard or told,
but even the strongest had longed for comfort,
so it's said that I'd be bold,

hiding behind the mask, I've feared,
I've lived too long to cry,
too shy to wander, find my strength,
there were days I've wanted to die,

disguise or not, I needed a guide,
to find a way out of this cave,
out of the darkness, in through the tunnel,
I needed a way to be brave,

hide behind lies, that was my motto,
to lie; disguising my past,
laughing behind, tortured inside,
to see how long it'd last,

I pull on my mask as the people go by,
the days I've wanted to show,
the face that had been, the day I'd begin,
the girl that I've grown to know.
