Breaking At The Seams

Breaking At The Seams

A Poem by oranges_melt

Heart on my sleeve,

lost in decieve,

what is this life,

that's cut with a knife?

It's war everyday,

we're all in the way,

of living in freedom,

where is God's wisdom?

Those who've prayed everyday,

lost in words they can't say,

we're hidden in those seams,

blaring on in our dreams,

burying the dead alone,

where has love gone to flown?

Where has God been these days,

because I'm lost in this sad faze,

Where has my God been in my dreams,

when I've been up all night in these screams,

Where had He gone off to strive,

But here I am, I'm still alive,

God, I'm praying everyday to you,

I still feel like I'm lost in this blue,

I'm dazed and scared-this is no life,

lost in this world--dead in this strife,

I'll keep on praying, I know You're there,

even though, in this life, I can't bear,

why do I think in You, I'm safe,

I guess it's something I call faith,

I love thy Lord, my love, my savior,

find this love and learn behavior,

We the people--at extremes,

So? We're stitching at the seams.

You have a pretty good handle on figurative speech but maybe you want to not try so hard to rhyme? Maybe if you don't restrict yourself with rhyming, you could possibly develop future poems more freely. Just a suggestion, though I loved your poem. Great job!
