Chapter 1A Chapter by RavynThis story was written by Slithering Angel and myself, so parts of it may be on his profile as well.
A forest green eyed teen glared at her beeping alarm clock, and wish that it would die a painful death and let her go back to sleep. Did it? No, it kept going off until she decided to roll out of her nice warm bed and go about her day. As walked down the hall she paused at her brother’s door, thinking rather or not to wake him up, so he too, can face this perfect morning. Reagan decided against it, she wasn’t up to face her crazy little brother this Monday morning, though it would be fun to drag him out of bed and kicked who was in there with not out, with no clothes on. She made her way into their small kitchen and fixed herself a small cup of coffee while adding spoonfuls of sugar and cream. She closed her forest green eyes and thought about the tests she had to take today. Why did she ever decide to go back to school? Especially the kind you had to pay for. And I have double shifts at the store today. She let her head fall to the wooden table and groaned. Why did everybody have to be against her? Maybe I should wake Nex up…No because then I’ll either have to deal with his happy and annoying attitude or his leave-me-alone-or-go-to "hell one and I don’t feel like dealing with neither. Reagan slowly lifted herself off the light brown wooden chair and made her way back to her room to get ready for the day. ---- Nex had heard the alarm clock go off in his sister's room, thinking along the same lines. ---- Raegan left the apartment not even bothering to a second glance at Nex’s door; her day was long enough as is. And besides, who knew what Nex was screwing in there. She shook her head of her thoughts and continued he walk to school. The dark brown hair, green eyed girl paid no attention to where she was going on the busy street and paid no attention to what the people around her where doing. Who would cause trouble in Incendia, there were guards everywhere in the city, so who would be stupid enough to try anything. A sigh escaped Reagan’s lips as she got closer to the school. She wished that there was a way for her to skip all her tests and classes and her double shifts at work. If only there was a way…The next thing Reagan saw was that her world was in complete darkness. “Ow.” Reagan groaned as she rolled over so she was lying on her back. This was not what she had in mind when she wished for a way out of her classes. “Where am I anyway?” She looked around the room, or cell which the she now called it. It had three solid brick walls and a wall of metal bars, the floor was made of cement. There also wasn’t a bed, just blankets on the ground, and a bucket so a person could do their business. “Great. I wonder what I’ve done.” She said aloud as she thought of all the things she did wrong. “That’s right. I DID NOTHING WRONG!” Reagan yelled the last part, not caring if anyone heard her. Great, once Nex finds out about this, he’ll never let me live it down. She slowly sat up, wincing as she did so, and glared at the bars in front of her. And she thought of all the people who could have done this, when there were about ten guards on the street she was on. That was when the thought hit her. The government kidnapped her! But what did they want with her. Well, I heard that they were looking for descendents of the Godless. But still, wouldn’t I know that I had some kind of power like that. She ignored the fact the she could listen on people’s thoughts, or when she got mad objects seemed to float in the air and flew at whoever was close, and most of the time it was Nex. She also ignored the fact that her little brother would do things with water that no other person could imagine. Well, I don’t ignore them completely, it’s just we thought it came from the spells we messed up on as kids. Not that we were part of the Godless. She refused to think about the many spells she and Nex did when they were younger, and how some didn’t work the way they wanted them to, or the fact that half the time their parents would interrupt them and start yelling at them. But they always thought how they got the abilities they use today. Then again that might explain Nex turning their parents’ home into one big ice cube. “Okay, I’m getting sidetracked. Back to the problem at hand.” Reagan said to herself as a guard passed by her cell. “A*****e.” She flicked him off as he went by, and he just ignored her, which cause her to glare at him more. “As of right now there’s no way out of here. So might as well take a nap.” Reagan thought of the few hours of sleep she got last night, and knew that if she wanted to get out of here she was going to need more than just four hours of sleep. -------- Nex woke up and immediately regretted the action. His head felt like it was splitting and his vision continued to swim for a few excruciating moments. When he could see straight, he looked towards the bars that seemed to be keeping him in some kind of cage. One fine eyebrow arched at the figure sitting, more like squatting, outside of his little cell. It was a guy, possibly a bit older than himself, with hazel eyes and chestnut hair that seemed to be going crazy in a spiky fashion. He was tanned and muscular in all the right ways and his face seemed to be kind, creased with concern. Nex felt an instant attraction, there was just one problem... He was inside a cell and the other was outside.
