Prolouge of a Sort: Forbodece of a MemoryA Chapter by MidnightWolf11A dying Kretari finds comfort in roses.Prologue The leaves of gray swirl around me, blending with the rich shades of crimson slowly seeping from my chest. I almost let go of all the guilt and regret as I watch the light petals of the forest flowers float in wild, undetermined paths. The sun softly shines on the pastel green grass, awakening the insects nested within. In another time and place I may have strolled through these woods with Dylan in the protection of his embrace. Both of my wings sit useless in ruins, binding me to the earth that condemns our life together. A lone white rose sits loosely in my grasp. My memories wander to tales and stories of the language of flowers. I've always been fascinated with the meanings of such small, but beautiful forms of life. Blue is mystery, yellow is friendship, red is love, and white...white is innocence. In truth, I'm not sure if it's fitting for my last moments in this realm. More painful memories make themselves known as blood dyes the tips of the rose bright red, like the shimmering scales of the dragon taking over my body. I think of poems and songs that filled my days before all of this. The flowing stanzas feel like last words in a way. Like a whisper of Dylan's breath under earthy notes of his lute, thoughts of home fill my mind as loud and sickly notes erupt into the sky. "I am just a girl. I have not much power. I am small and delicate. Like a fresh spring flower." So begins a tale of me, Kretari Driften.
