Laudanum

Laudanum

A Poem by Jazmine Night
"

just some free verse.

"

Colors flash before my eyes in a kolidescope of emotions.

Gray, blue, red.

Crimson red.

The color of your blood as it stains my hands as well as my soul.

Filthy, putrid, rotten.

I'm decaying.

Just like the cadaver before me.

But this process is fast.

Like quicksilver, it runs through my veins to poison my heart.

I relish in your last moments.

Agonizing screams as I plunged the blade deep into your tender flesh.

Through the tendons and into bones.

Blood as well as marrow fills my nostrils with the scent of copper and almonds.

The feel of your sweet life force on my hands is pure extacy.

"I'm not like you."

I said, my words slurred with the glorious high.

"I'm stronger."
And even now, your mangled body laid out before me, you still taunt.

Saying thats not how you remember me the first fifteen years of my life.

But this does not infuriate me. Only a cool glaze that passes over my eyes tells you that I heard.

Rising to my feet I smile.

Ferally.

A predator.

And I close the door to your tomb, leaving you to your screams.

"It's how I remember the last fifteen minutes of yours."

Wooow I loved the ending. That was an amazing piece. You depicted the murder so well I could see it. I almost could smell the blood. Great work.
