It was strange that the bully should become the bullied;

She found the situation troubling and queer.

Being so terribly unused to the situation, engulfed by insecurity;

She was like a polar bear in the desert.

In a place where someone else ruled;

She, the outcast queen, was unwelcome.

Every day would pressure her;

She was suffocated, quite literally.

Writing in her little black book;

She talked of ways to draw her own life force.

Do you want me to share her story with you?

She could haunt you in your dreams.

Then let’s begin;

She, her story-

The dreadful Annabel Lee.
