1329 Miles

1329 Miles

A Poem by Tori
"

Long-distance love.

"

One thousand

Three hundred

And twenty nine miles

Separate me from you.

I can’t gaze into your eyes

Can’t take your hand

Can’t press my lips slowly, sweetly to yours

Because of those

One thousand

Three hundred

And twenty nine miles.

When I have nightmares

I can’t cuddle up close

And when I have daydreams

I can’t live them out with you

Because of that goddamn distance.

The only way I can hear your voice

Is over the telephone

And I love the phone

But God, it gets old.

And when all I want to do

Is cup your face in my hands

And kissyoukissyoukissyou

All.

Night.

Long.

It kills me to know that I can’t.

I can’t

Because of those

One thousand

Three hundred

And twenty nine miles.

Those

Awful

Torturous

Evil

Wicked

Damned

One thousand

Three hundred

And twenty nine miles.

This is so pretty. I've felt like this many times before, so I can definitely connect with you on this one.

I love how you used the number of miles, and kept going back to it. This was so well written.
"Those

And twenty nine miles."

Your ending was great, seriously! I love this piece so much, good job! :)

you in return is to far away,, thanks for sharing
