Here's to You

Here's to You

A Poem by Brandon
"

Wrote this for my wife for mother's day!

"

Loving wife

And mother of one

Child you’ve raised alone

Hasn’t always been fun

You’ve done the job

The best you could

I’ve tried to be there to help

Like a loving husband should

I feel the love

That you two share

Mother and son

I can only glare

I love you very much

And hope your day is blessed

With happiness and joy

A mother’s day beyond the rest

I really liked this! It flows together very well. My favorite part was the ending with the bit of daddy envy and the yearning to have the bond with the child like the mother and son do together. Yet, the character still wishes the mother well which I also liked as well. A great read.
