A Place I'll Return ToA Poem by Beautiful BratShort poem about my visit to see family in Wisconsin from the City. I was inspired by its weather, culture, and beauty and it was more than painful to come home.
I was happy in this place
Of eternal green, not dying waste But now I'm whiplashed right straight back My fragile heart seized an abusive smack. I was fearless when I with you Stunned by time which savagely flew The weather changed, and so did I My soul mourned among the crying sky. I was in awe of the alluring scene The rain would cleanse, Figures unseen. Presently, I sit at the writing desk My immoral city elegant but grotesque. Soon, as promised I shall return With little but my strive will burn. © 2012 Beautiful BratAuthor's Note
