A question poem I wrote for poetry class

How can you do this?

turn away so easily.

How can you sleep at night?

knowing what you've done.

Does it hurt?

like it did to us.

Do you care?

about all the pain you've caused.

Do you ever think?

about all that you've left behind.

Do you ever wonder what it would have been like?

if you stayed; I have.

Do you hold them close?

the few memories that we've shared.

Do you ever regret?

the choices that you've made.

would you redo it?

if you were given a chance.

would you try? 

if that chance came around.

or would it all play out the same?

your twisted version of keep away.

My biggest question to you is; 

Do you miss us father?

your son and daughter;

those you have left behind.
