Soldier BoyA Poem by xNote_to_selfx
Sway by sway,
Step by step, Across the walls they dance; Shadows of a time once before. Pulling and tugging, dragging the light behind them, In a slow harmony they dance, Shadows of a time long gone. Innocent yet vile They taunt him, With liquid movements they dance, Shadows of a memory once forgotten. Sad and hurting, he waits alone, watching the shadows dance, The broken soul of a lost soldier. Slowly yet suddenly, Their movement stops, With arms outstretched they great him, Shadows of long forgotten souls Sway by sway, step by step, across the walls he dances, the shadow of a newly lost life.
