"Slow down!" She shrieked, but it was too late. The car had already run off the road and began to tumble down the hill. Her life flashed before her eyes; childhood memories, her wedding day, and even the day when she lost her mother. All these memories, all these sweet memories, what a waste they seem now that her life will be no more. What will these memories matter when she's gone? Who's going to miss me? she thought. No one, with her husband already dead in the driver's seat beside her and her son unconscious and fatally hurt in the back seat. A sharp pain in her neck awoke her from her thoughts and made the images of her past disappear. She panicked, she could feel her body being thrashed against the inside of the car, she knew she was going to die. A pitch darkness filled her vision, the thoughts came back to her. Who's going to miss me? She could feel the warmth of the blood rushing down her face and neck. The car reached the bottom of the hill and came to a jerking stop tossing her limp and broken body out of the crushed window in the passengers seat. She lay in the grass, blind, helpless and unable to move. Desperate cries for help rose from her chest and filled the air around her. She knew her neck was broke and there was no way she could survive this.
"Over here!" A deep male voice shouted.
"She's alive but badly wounded! Hurry up and bring the stretcher! We need to get her to the hospital quick!" He yelled. She felt her body being lifted off the ground. The pain throbbed through out her body. She could hear muffled voices all around her but couldn't make out what they were saying. She didn't know where she was was or what was going on. She'd forgotten who she was or what just happened. How did I get here? She thought but nothing came to mind. Her eyes were open but she could see nothing.
"She's not going to make it." Whispered a soft female voice. Her heart sank when she heard this. What's going on? Who's not going to make it? She thought, then realized they were speaking of her. Tears managed to make their way down her torn and bruised cheeks.
"We might be able to save the baby but well have to work fast." The same soft female voice said. My baby? She thought, then her heart sank a little more when she remembered she had just been in a car accident and her husband and son had been killed instantly. Oh my baby, my baby.. who will take care of my baby! She will become an orphan. She thought, the pain in her body was so great it had numbed her. The only pain she felt now was for her husband, son and unborn child she now carried. Her heart beat slowed and her breathing now came in short raspy breaths. She heard the cry of an infant and knew her baby had been saved. She knew it was her time to go and with her dying breath she whispered to her child.
" I love you." A final tear raced down her cheek.
"We've lost her." The female voice said.
