I was listening to the song Over You by Daughtry when i wrote it so it probably does sound like it

What you said when you left
Just left me cold and out of breath
I spent so many days picking up the pieces of my heart,
The one you completely ripped apart,

I�m slowly getting closer,
I�m finally getting over,
The fact we weren�t meant to be,
It took me so long to see,

I�m finally getting better
I tore up your love letter,
I�ve stopped crying so many tears,
I got over my fears,

I ended the scene,
My conscious is finally clean,
I can stand on my own,
I now know I�m not alone

I forgot all the days,
I burned the memories of you walking away,
It took me so long,
But I finally ended that slow, sad song

I fell too far, was in way too deep,
I let you get the best of me,
I�m putting my heart back together,
Its seems it�s been forever,

I�m done crying,
I�m so sick of trying,
To make you see,
You�re the one I need,

I was wrong,
To realize that it took me so long,
This day I thought I�d never get through
I�m finally over you

Good job, I like Daughtry, (though I don't think I've heard this particular song), but anyway regarding the poem, I liked how you even though there was so much sadness (love gone wrong and all) you picked yourself up. "I can stand on my own I know I'm not alone" another good job. ;)

Ive been there! It took me three years to get over my first love. Now I realize true love is not that dramatic and up and down. True love is consistent , reassuring, safe and makes you feel blessed--all the time. A short poem 4 u: "I am here I am here. I have finally made it. I am with TRUE LOVE. He is a part of me not apart from me. He is wonderful because he recognizes my worth."
