The Girl Who Dressed In Red

The Girl Who Dressed In Red

A Poem by Megan
"

I have no personal experience with this but it has affected me in more ways than one so I decided to write about it.

"

If only the world was in black and white
and that she would be dressed in red
maybe we would notice
the pain in her eyes
and the surging confusion in her head
her body is weak
and her stance is frail
but no one could have known
while the sky was blue
and the sun was bright
he was waiting for her by the phone
she would walk in the door
each and every day
to find him waiting there
though she would scream and cry
and wonder why
while he touched her golden hair
she was broken
and guilt ridden
though nothing was of her doing
he was the one
who took her innocence away
and whose pain had kept her from going
the skies are gray
and cloudy today
as he waits by the telephone
though she doesn't come in
and he waits in anger
sitting all alone
but as well as him
she lays alone
breathless in a bathroom stall
she might have lived
if only she had
had someone to call
