Forever Smiling

Forever Smiling

A Poem by Megan

smiles plastered
unblinking eyes
the smile seems real
but the eyes reveal
your secrets
you hide it all inside
a smile for the masses
too busy with others
never thinking of yourself
wrapped in a web of situations
never realizing your own
he is forever breaking you
ripping open every part
the smile still plastered
eyes forever unblinking
but you slip
you plummet
you break into reality
like a suicide jumper
you told yourself never
would you climb so high
jump so far
tangled in a web of lies
a web of confusion
who to trust?
your smile cracks
your eyes flutter
and tears fall
he broke you

I could relate to this one. In your bio, you said you write to get through. That's how I started too. Keep at it.
