The Star in the Sky

The Star in the Sky

A Poem by LostCauze[:P]

A star in the sky, every night she resonated with beauty
A beautiful essence of light, everyone cherished her truly
She shared space and time with billions of other stars
but out of the billions no one could see that her heart had scars

Although her space was filled with life and attention
she would always feel forsaken
Her loneliness devoured her soul
and stripped her love naked

Now she continually falls in and out of love
Losing the resonance that once kept her bright
She is blinded by the sense of lust
because its dark without her light

The planet beside her began to die and wither away
He whispered into her ear, "I have something to say"
"I had so much more to offer, and I could have truly loved you whole
I would have given you my heart, I would have given you my soul"

The star she cried and out came her eyes
a tear that outshined the dark
So in the sky where she resides
she waited for his heart

You always write such beautiful pieces. This one is sad, lonely, and a bit ironic. It speaks to the idea of not seeing that which is right in front of you. The star searched for unconditional love, when the whole time, it was there beside her. I think I would wait my whole life to be loved unconditionally.
