If I Wrote You A Poem

If i wrote you a poem, would you read it's words,
Words that manifested and stemmed from my heart?
Would you read from the beginning to the end,
Or would you read from the end to the start?

Would you obsess over every letter,
that i gently crafted with these hands?
Would you blush after every adjective,
or will you ignore all that I am?

Would you cherish the epitome of my heart,
Even if it was in the shape of a rhyme?
Would you describe my feelings as infinite
Even if it distorts the truth of time?

If I told you I never wrote a poem for a lover,
Would you think me as absurd?
Truth is, to you my poems are worthless,
because you'll never read my words.
