My paper is the canvas in which I draw my art Though Conceived from words, images are born Rhythms of each stroke brings color to paper Each detailed line marked deep within the surface And by which the sky made from letters was formed The trees I drew, Construed from rhyme The birds that flew, Stood still in time And yet I fret, I left a speck Of ink on canvas, which I resign I drew the ocean, beneath the sky Using Sounds and Memories that I adore But when I decide to twist and turn my words The Ocean I drew, became the sky And the sky I drew became the floor The Sand I drew, Construed from rhyme The Water that spewed, Stood Still in time And yet I fret, I left a speck Of ink on canvas, which I resign My canvas became filled with words and pictures A most brilliant speechless art For my pen ripped open the sky I drew And leaked an ocean of ink and I think These were my intentions from the start The pictures I drew, Construed from rhyme The ink that glued, stood still in time And yet I fret, I left a speck Of ink on canvas, Which I resigned
