Nikki wants to kill me?!A Chapter by A.M.V.Ace or Garrett? Garrett or Ace? There wasn't a decision anymore. Danny the dope had his evil little girlfriend--excuse me, fiancé. And now, I didn't have to choose between Garrett and Ace anymore. As unbelievable as it sounds, I chose Ace and I'm not in the right mood to be a gushy girlfriend and talk about all the wonderful things about him and why I chose him. Right now, Garrett was in trouble, my dad had a weapon in his room and knowing my dad, he'll end up hurting himself too, and to top it all off Lucky was pregnant and being a major butt face. "Dad!" I screamed and opening the front door to my house, accidently slamming it open. Oh right, I thought to myself. I'm a vampire now. I didn't feel like vampire at all, I just felt like a teenage girl who had gotten herself in a crap load of trouble was gonna have to face it and hopefully not to run off like a flabbergasted fish. I scanned the living room, running my eyes over the over turned furniture. I felt Ace come up behind me. I looked up at him; his emerald green eyes were a really pale green as he searched the room. “What’s wrong?” I asked as Ace moved in front of me and started to rush up the stairs. “She’s here,” Ace raced up stairs and struggled to follow. I’m a vampire now, when does the super speed kick in? “Wait, what are you talking about?!” Ace cussed and ran his finger through his hair when I finally caught up to him. “The house is empty, but I can feel them here!” “Ace,” “Do you have a basement?” He asked, ignoring me. “Ace?” “You don’t have an attic big enough for them to be up there, right?” I grabbed Ace by his shoulder sand made him face me. “Ace! Calm down! I need to know what you’re talking about cuz’ frankly that vase knows more than me right now!” Ace sighed and started to explain, still looking jittery and in a rush. “It’s a long story, but the point is Nikki wants to kill you and she’s a witch and I think she is possessing your dad’s body to attack Garret so that she doesn’t get hurt,” I blinked. “Whaaaaaaat?” My brain flushed and it felt like everything I knew was a lie. “B-but I thought Nikki was human and I already told you that my dad has anger issues,” Ace gave a stressed smile. “Yeah, but I don’t think you’d have a murderer father when he raised a person as nice as you.” My heart gave a sudden thud against my rib cage and I smiled. How was I supposed to respond to that?! A loud thud came from the ceiling and the chandelier shook. I looked at Ace. “Can they be on the roof?!” Before Ace could even open his mouth, a loud yell of pain came from the
roof. “That’s gotta be Garret!” Ace held his breathe and jumped out the window to get up to the roof. I just stood there feeling helpless. I knew for a fact that I couldn’t jump out that window and get up to the roof. Plus, Lucky was pregnant and since she wasn’t in the house she had to be up there too, so how could she get up there without exploding? That’s when I remembered the attic had an opening to the roof. I started for the basement without thinking about how old the stairway to the roof was and yanked open the door. I had a weird sense that I was in one of those horror movies, caught in an endless narrow corridor, passing closed door after closed door until I finally reached the staircase…heading up to the roof. I followed up the stairs. They ended at two doors. I paused. I took a second to prepare myself. No matter what happened out there, I couldn’t let Nikki, Lucky, or anyone see my fear. When I was ready, I grabbed the doorknob and"it was locked. Fantastic. I turned the dead bolt latch ad clicked it free. I swung the door open and stepped in"a blast of cold air knocked me back a couple of steps. I blinked. No one was up here. Suddenly a piece of wood hit near my eye, stinging. I looked up in surprise. “You’re in danger, Sky. Don’t you care?” A low feminine voice found my ear. “Right now, I’m in control, so you’d better treat me good.” I couldn’t see a thing in this fog and took a shaky step forward, the wood under my feet making a weird noise. “Who’s there? Lucky is that you?” “Hmm, close, but no,” The voice said. This time I heard the wood as it was flung through the air and tried to dodge it, but it scraped my arm and it burned. I sucked in a breathe and grasped my arm. “It’s Nikki, am I right?” “Oh, someone please hand her a prize,” Nikki stepped out in front of me, looking completely non-Nikki. (If that’s even a way to put it.) I glared. “Nikki, don’t you look all high and mighty standing at the height of a munchkin.” Vampire or not, I still had my sense of human and sarcasm to look forward to. “You’re funny, but you’ve just been led into a trap,” She smiled with her
nose up. “Ace, Garret, and you’re worthless families are all in the backyard. Ace is struggling to protect Garret from your dad and your mom is just sitting there. ” I groaned. “I’d expect that much from Lucky, what’s your point?” She stepped closer, her eyes looking menacing and cold. “The point is while they are down there; my plan is to kill you up here.” I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms across my chest. “Yeah, keep telling me your plan, that’s real smart.” The blow came from behind, striking hard against the back of my knees. My legs buckled and I fell on all fours. © 2010 A.M.V.Author's Note
