Fair Lady Lane

Fair Lady Lane

A Poem by Faith

Lady Lane, wouldn't cry.

No abusion can make her crack,

Even when it's hours that had gone by,

What then does she lack?

one hit, two hits, three hits, four.

Each strike she stands tall,

Avoiding the provoken strife,

That fair Lady shall not fall.

 Looking up above her,

To what one would never to see,

The brightest star,

At an hour past three.

one hit, two hits, three hits, four.

And that fair Lady turns away,

Agreeing to her husband's say,

In which she was forced to lay.

one hit, two hits, three hits, four.

At last  Lady Lane wouldn't cry,

for she knew;

She would always have her love

In the sky.

In the sentence-- "To what one would never to see" The words were a bit confusing but taking the second 'to' in the sentence should fix that. Overall, great poem!

Beautiful! Pure inspiration! A good rhyme scheme! Not top simple, not overly complicated either! This is one for my favorites... :D

Firstly, I agree with what the previous reviewer has said about this poem. Furthermore, it has a good rhyme-scheme and flow. Interestingly, the woman who is trapped in this abusive relationship, resorts to an alternative love - in the form of "The brightest star". The planet Venus is often mistaken for a star, and associated with love (due to the ancient mythological association). Is that a mere coincidence, or was the writer aware of this?

In addition, I admire the brave concept - of a woman managing to remain passionate and devoted to love, even though it is not reciprocated by her lover in this world. Thought-provoking, a little sad and dark yet romantic. Thankyou, Faith!

wow, I feel like this is about an abusive relationship and girls standing strong. If it is, great message and a great way to express it. I'm so glad you have this philosophy. Keep writing.
