Dark Abyss

I look up at the sky,
So cloudy and dark
Like a sly sinking abyss

I begin to think,
What is going to happen
When one day
We give up and stop trying
~~~~~~~~~
What would happen
If no one was ever happy,
If everyone just slowly
Sunk into their own
Abyss
With no hope for tonight?

Such a raging depression,
It hurts so bad
Just pain and longing
Of secrets and lies
~~~~~~~~~
The cunning, terrible
Lies
Of my life that hides
Beneath the hollow shadows
Of my shy, shallow life
~~~~~~~~~
To trust,
To trust someone new
Is such a difficult thing
For me to try to do
~~~~~~~~~
Pain, deception, and loss
Those things can cause
Such a toss
~~~~~~~~~
I am now sitting here,
Thinking these
Deep, dark thoughts
Getting lost in my own
Personal, dark abyss
I only hope
That when I'm gone
I won't be missed
