In This ReflectionA Poem by Aries<> Coping, I guess.Cuts and scrapes on my hands
dully announce that the day has begun Legs in motion, protesting movement As I work, the water ebbing away at me Where her touch once filled my soul I press my hand to the steel wool Thinking of how my life now Seems so empty circular movements ebbing away the water's tide draining me down On the surface, I see her face and with every reach, the water ripples revealing the features of my own, eyes distant with my longing and mouth slack with not belonging here as I remove a plate and wash away the colourful sheen of my daydream © 2010 Aries |
