New Horizon

New Horizon

A Poem by Aries
"

<> I wrote this one at school just now, reflecting on my life a bit.

"

Why do these words stain my mind,

never cease and remain behind?

I thought the ache had drowned away,

in her tide of lies...

I look across to the blackened sky;

this empty horizon so filled with hurt

and devoid of life

that it makes me sure

It wasn't ever worth my time...

I ran away, so far away, to where the darkness

Could not reach

And now I see a new horizon

One where the light is not tainted by doubt,

a place where my heart is free and proud

Clouds when there are wispy and rare,

and lonely rain is an uncommon fare

In a lush meadow caressed by the breeze

is where my soul is most at ease

On my back I gaze at the sky,

 this new horizon,

You and I

Seems you and I have been on the same train of thought lately, sweetheart. I like the rhyme scheme, it keeps enough flow without allowing the words to become redundantly one after another, while still keeping it choppy enough to keep the reader from being lulled
