Keepsake

You've got me tangled up in my sheets and shirts
and I've been wearing yours for days
your scent brings me the courage and hope
I desperately need to navigate this maze
So I clutch you close to my eager heart
the fabric exuding the night before
and lingering, it picks me up with a start
this moment immortalized, a memory cherished
our breath become one forevermore

Being in a relationship is hard work, but look...you've just made another keepsake! Hope it keeps you warm through all the winters to come.

I tend to get tired of relationships poem, but there is something about this one that is quite touching. The wording is unique and well rhymed, but it's the sense of rejoicing in the beloved, even the very laundry, that is moving. Hope it works out.
